Overview

Targeted cleaning for difficult residue zones

The Orbitor DT is a bespoke directional tank cleaning machine designed to focus high-impact cleaning jets on specific areas of a vessel. It was originally custom designed to remove resin scum lines in the paper and pulp industry and can now be configured for a wide range of targeted cleaning jobs.

Because the DT is designed to order, its dimensions and cleaning pattern are specific to your application rather than based on a standard tank-size range.

Key features

Engineered around the areas that need cleaning

  • Bespoke configuration for each tank and residue pattern
  • Available with 2 to 6 nozzles
  • Preset nozzle angles target specific areas
  • Different nozzle sizes on one head for different jet lengths
  • Ideal for scum lines, drain points and tank bottoms
  • Mounting angle can be preset for off-centre access
  • Optional on-site nozzle reconfiguration
  • Reduced water use and shorter cleaning cycles

Targeted cleaning

Cleaning energy where it counts

Unlike a standard full-coverage machine, the DT directs its cleaning energy at chosen areas of the vessel. Multiple high-impact jets can be aimed at scum lines, drain points, tank bottoms and concentrated residue build-up.

Where the tank access point isn’t central, the mounting angle can be preset to keep coverage where it’s needed. The nozzle head can even be designed so alternative nozzle combinations can be fitted on site. For vessels with internal structures or pipework, a shadow study helps identify the best machine position and nozzle arrangement.

Installation

Fixed or portable installation

The DT can be supplied for fixed or portable installation. Because each machine is built to order, its dimensions and mounting arrangement are adapted to the vessel, the access points available and the cleaning pattern required. Fixed installations can be supplied with a downpipe, mounting flange and valve, while portable arrangements can include layflat hose and a hose saddle.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Can’t find your answer? Our engineers are happy to help.

What information do you need to design a DT?

Tank drawings or dimensions, the position of the access point, where the residue builds up and what it is, plus the pressure and flow available. Photos of the problem areas help too.

Why is each machine configured to order?

Matching the nozzle size, cycle time, operating pressure and flow rate to your tank means you get an effective clean without using more water than you need.
