Tank cleaning for the distilling industry
CIP for mash tuns, washbacks, yeast tanks and receivers.
Dasic offers a range of cleaning technologies for the distilling industry, each selected to give the best possible clean while minimising costly waste effluent.
There are many CIP demands in the distilling process, and choosing the right system for each application has a significant impact on cleaning efficiency.
Mash tuns
These have complex pipework and agitators, so multiple CIP heads are installed for a full hygienic clean. They are generally cleaned with hot water and caustic solution.
Washbacks
Where fermentation begins. The mash bubbles as it ferments and leaves a residue of yeast and barley that can affect cleaning heads. Washbacks must be cleaned to a hygienic condition with hot water and caustic so the next batch isn’t contaminated.
Yeast tanks
Must be cleaned to a hygienic condition to avoid contamination that could affect fermentation.
Low wines and feints receivers
Often complex, with many compartments, so selecting and positioning CIP equipment is very important.
Spirit receivers
Much less arduous to clean, as the product is a clean, high-alcohol spirit.
